11.4x8.3 in ~ Drawing, Ink
Black Zen is based on traditional Chinese calligraphy. Philosophically it is influenced by ideas from Zen Buddhism and Daoism.
It is part of a series of “painted calligraphy”. In these works, old texts, mostly poems, are written over one another again and again in different ways, so that a texture with artistic appeal is created or a poetic touch develops. It is not only essential that, among other things, each individual character is written with the greatest care and that the rhythm is maintained.
The finished product can sometimes, as in this case, appear relatively monotonous at first glance. If you look closely, it reveals secrets and invites you to meditate.
Ready to hang! The picture comes matted and in a good quality, modern, attractive frame made of black aluminum and plexiglass. The frame is 2 cm deep.
[Please note that the original is not very large, and the situational images are just examples of how prints of the work could be effectively displayed.]
